Lacie Parker PsyD

Hello and welcome! Thank you for visiting my page. I am honored to be considered to help you in your mental health journey. I know that starting therapy can be an overwhelming and daunting task, so please feel free to contact me if I can help answer any questions you may have.

About

I specialize in offering individual psychotherapy to adults, with a focus on those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and Highly Sensitive People (HSPs). I also specialize in treating concerns related to eating and body image, depression, self-esteem, anxiety, and trauma (including recovery from religious trauma and abuse). I practice from a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework, meaning that I believe all bodies are good bodies and that weight is not an accurate indicator of health.

My primary theoretical orientation is Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), which emphasizes your emotional experience, as emotions tend to be more deeply rooted than thoughts, as well as learning from our emotions and using them as guideposts. I also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), which looks at how the different parts of ourselves interact and inform who we are as a whole. Additionally, I emphasize the role of self-compassion in our relationship with ourselves.

I utilize a social justice and multicultural framework. Since the different systems of oppression that we each face, including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, ableism, and classism, contribute significantly to our mental health, I believe it is important to address how these factors have impacted your journey when relevant.

Finally, I value having a collaborative approach. While I may be the expert in psychology, you are the expert in you. No one knows your experience better than you do. That being said, I may make an incorrect hypothesis sometimes, or won’t always know how well something is working for you. I encourage and welcome your feedback. This is your time for healing, and I want to make sure that you are getting the most out of it as possible.

Background

I earned my Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Loma Linda University, and completed my doctoral internship at Central Washington University’s Student Counseling Services. I have trained at such sites including university counseling centers, community mental health, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program (PHP/IOP) for eating disorders, and residential treatment for substance abuse.

Fees

I charge $160 per session. Note that I am private pay and an out-of-network provider. Although I do not accept insurance, you may be able to submit claims to your health insurance company and receive out-of-network benefits. I also offer free 15-minute phone consultations to determine if we will be a good fit and help answer your questions.

Licensure & Supervision

Since I recently graduated, I am still waiting for my licensure process to go through. In the meantime, I am practicing as an LMHC-A, and am supervised by Stacey Prince, PhD, who also works here at the Living Room.

Pre-Session Forms will be emailed to you upon booking an intake appointment.
