Finding rest in turbulent times:
Strategies for therapists to help themselves and their clients

Finding rest in turbulent times: Strategies for therapists to help themselves and their clients
Saturday, Oct 27, 2018     10 am to 1 pm     $40

This workshop is for those who struggle with insomnia triggered by anxiety from the news, which keeps them from being present and effective in their lives and the world. We will explore a variety of ways to relate to sleepless hours; how to move through obstacles to sleep and rest (such as a jabbering mind and anxiety); how deep rest rejuvenates mind, body, and emotions for energy the next day.... and to welcome sleep.

This is based on the Restful Insomnia program, which helps break through the trap of limited choices in insomnia (struggle, get up and do something, or take medications). Instead, it teaches how to deeply rest on all levels -- beyond the body -- to create an inner environment of restoration and sleep. It uses a diverse set of disciplines that help change the way people relate to the environment, body, mind, emotions, and sense of self.

Sondra Kornblatt developed Restful Insomnia during an intense bout of chronic insomnia, where she discovered the value of deep rest. She helps people transform their struggles at night in group training and individual coaching. She is the author of four books on sleep, brain function, and energy boosting, has a degree in community service/counseling, and is a trained coach. Her approach combines many disciplines, including meditation, yoga, body work, and hypnosis. She finds inspiration working with people who struggle with insomnia so they can live their lives fully.
