Ashley McQuown LMHC

I’m Ashley McQuown (they/them), a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Substance Use Disorder Professional located in Seattle, Washington. I am currently accepting new telehealth clients and am available Tuesday through Friday.  I am in-network with Aetna insurance and can provide Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I also have a limited number of sliding scale spots available for individuals who are experiencing financial hardship (feel free to ask about superbills or sliding scale options during our initial phone consultation).

I specialize in working with clients who are struggling with substance use, eating disorders, self-harm, chronic illness, and mood disorders (like anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder). I also have experience working with neurodivergent, queer, kinky, and non-monogamous folks.

Please see my bio below for more about me:

Are you struggling with overwhelm, burnout, and managing stress? Do you feel scattered and beat yourself up, often asking “Why can’t I just do the things?!” Have you researched all of the self care tips, only to find that none of them seem to work? If so, I have you covered! As someone who is Autistic and has ADHD, I know how hard it can be to prioritize joy when you’re struggling to keep up with day to day responsibilities.

In therapy, we can explore realistic strategies that work WITH your strengths and values instead of against them. In session, this can look like: challenging unhelpful patterns and behaviors that keep you stuck, sharing real life examples of how to apply skills, and working together to drop the “shoulds” so you can move towards a life worth living.

As a therapist and in my personal life, I value harm reduction, fat liberation, cultural humility, and dismantling systems that contribute to stress, burnout, and trauma. My approach is also relational, sex positive, and kink affirming. If you are looking for a therapist who is authentic, direct, and able to meet you where you are at, we may be a great fit!
